About Us
Golf for Rob
Golf for Rob is a New Jersey-based 501(c)(3) charitable organization focused on raising funds for Melanoma Cancer Research. We were incorporated in 2016 in honor of Robert Stoffel, an exceptional husband, father and friend to many. Although he accomplished many great successes, his life was shortened by the horrible disease of Melanoma.
Mission: Fundraising
Our main fundraising activity is an annual golf outing. Golf for Rob's mission is to drive out cancer. Each year, we donate to help fund Melanoma research. In 2017, we were able to donate $25,000 to researchers at University of Pennsylvania and Yale School of Medicine. In 2018 and 2019 we raised over $65,000 to donate to the Robert Stoffel Memorial Fund at University of Pennsylvania's Abramson Cancer Center.
Melanoma
- Skin Cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States. Melanoma is the deadliest form of skin cancer.
- Today, there are 1 million Americans living with Melanoma.
- Exposure to tanning beds before age 30 increases a person's risk of developing Melanoma by 75%.
